Lillgruvan, a travel to preindustrial time

Lillgruvan is a place at Sala silvermine where we present the amazing history of mining with a focus on old mining techniques and how people lived and worked at the mine in preindustrial time (c. 1500-1800). Me and Björn ”Gruvtroll” Carlander, an amazing photographer and mine nerd,  have been working with this during the summer of 2017 and we will continue with this project. Our goal is to make a center for the early modern mining history of Sweden at Lillgruvan in cooperation with Sala silvermine. Next year we will build a beautiful premodern machine that was used for hoisting up ore in the mines back in the old days. Follow us here:
